AD | “Dram”a at Karma Lake of Menteith as New Whisky Flights are Launched

Known for its rare Whisky Vault, Karma Lake of Menteith is making it easier than ever before to explore and enjoy the “water of life”. The lakeside hotel, part of the worldwide Karma group since 2021, has launched four new whisky flights. Priced from £19pp to £137pp, there's a selection to suit every budget, and more importantly, level of experience with whisky tasting.

Discover‘n The Dram, at £19pp, offers an excellent introduction to the world of Scotch, featuring selections from three distinct regions of Scotland. Experience the diverse styles and remarkable flavour variations that each region has to offer, by tasting a local Deanston Distillery 12YO, a Glengoyne 10YO, and a Macallan 12YO.

The Island Hop’n, at £21.50pp, shines a spotlight on the enchanting West Coast Islands of Scotland, showcasing the distinct coastal flavours and varying styles of smokiness that define the Island Region. From light and fruity to bold, peppery, and robust, the islands provide a thrilling adventure for a palate, echoing the rugged beauty of Scotland’s west coast. Experience the unique offerings of Hearach from the Isle of Harris, a 10 YO Jura from the Isle of Jura, and a 12YO Highland Park from Orkney, each delivering a memorable taste journey.

The Intrepid Dram’n, at £54.50pp, explores what is known as the “Golden Years” of Whisky, with many whiskies reaching their peak at the remarkable age of 18. The thoughtfully curated flight invites enthusiasts to try some of the finest examples—a Dalmore 18YO, a Tamdhu 18YO, and an Acnoc 18YO Dalwhinnie.

Finally, the Cream o’ the Crop, at £137pp, is an extraordinary experience for the aficionado as they explore an exceptional selection of whiskies from the Hotel’s Malt Vault—truly the crème de la crème of liquid gold in the collection. Whiskies offered here are a Dalwhinnie 30YO, a Balblair 25YO, and a Mortlach 36YO.

Commenting on the new whisky flights, Adrian Willmers, General Manager of Karma Lake of Menteith, said: “Since we acquired this beautiful hotel in 2021, we have continued to build up and develop the Hotel’s fantastic Whisky Vault, regularly adding to the collection, particularly with rarer finds, along with a good selection of whiskies from our local Distillery, Deanston.

“It’s a commitment to continuing our legacy with whisky, a legacy which is reflected overall within Karma Group, which is known for curating its own range of fine wines and spirits. We have recently added an exclusive Karma blended whisky which guests can enjoy at the Hotel, buying a bottle to take away with them if they wish. As the festive season nears, a time when many of us enjoy a dram, we felt it was a good time to outline our comprehensive whisky offering as one of Scotland's finest Whisky Hotels.”
