AD | Creative Exchange Winter Market & Open Studios 2024!

The artists at Perth Creative Exchange are delighted to present this unique, curated Christmas art and craft market, featuring local professional creatives for the third year running on 30th November and 1st December. What makes this Christmas event particularly special is not just the opportunity to buy from makers and artists themselves at the market, but also the chance to visit some of the actual working studios housed in the building.

As one of the event organisers, Ceri White will be demonstrating pottery throwing in her studio all weekend, and is keen to express continued enthusiasm for putting on this winter event, “It's generally a packed time of year for the working artists at Creative Exchange, but we think it's a great opportunity to offer creative businesses from the area a chance to showcase themselves, and hopefully create a lovely event for the Perth community.

“We do love to show off what we do and best of all is the enthusiasm of our visitors – we've had some brilliant conversations and connections – and I honestly think everyone gets something great from it, not least of all some really thoughtful, special gifts and an insight to how they are created. ”

This year the Creative Exchange artists have got together a great collection of paintings, ceramics, jewellery, printmaking, woodcraft, illustration, felt-work, textiles, glassware and more. As always there will be a small pop-up cafe running, offering coffee, cake, etc. to keep everyone going!

Some local ‘Perthies’ may even remember Perth Creative Exchange from its (original) years as St John's Primary School, of course, and this is a fantastic opportunity to get a look round to see what's been done with the place. Yes... the blackboards are still there!

All in all this promises to be a lovely winter market event, with a peek behind the scenes to experience the life of practicing artists and makers. With some demonstrations and lots of chat with the studio holders and beautiful works galore, bring your Christmas gift lists and your curiosity!

The Creative Exchange Winter Market event runs over the Nov 30/Dec1 weekend, 10-4pm and is free entry.
