AD | Brush Up On Your Painting Skills with Next Comrie Art Hut Workshop
Whether you’re a complete beginner to watercolour painting, or have some experience and would like to improve, this relaxing weekend workshop is designed to help you nurture your own style and develop your watercolour skills. The course is focused on botanical and floral watercolour painting techniques and is based in the light and peaceful studio at the Art Hut.
Floral and textile artist Clare Robinson will guide you through the steps to illustrate a variety of seasonal flowers and foliage—which will be gathered locally—experimenting with loose-style and wet-in-wet watercolour techniques, sketching, composition and brush work to convey the textures and colours of your chosen botanic.
After an introduction to Clare’s work where she will demonstrate her technique, there will be a run through of the workshop plan. The weekend will start with some sketching, and will gently progress to creating a beautiful floral painting using loose-style watercolour to take home with you. There will be plenty of one-on-one guidance to help enhance your observation and expressive painting skills.
