AD | Autumn Inspiration from Perthshire Artisans

Misty mornings, cooler air, golden hues, hints of a frost and the changing colours of the trees and fields means we are well and truly in the throws of autumn. Perthshire is glorious all year round and particularly at this time of year. The autumnal seasonal shift can be a focus for many things, including a re-fresh in our homes, being ready for getting cosy, and some of us may even be thinking ahead to special gifts for later in the year!

Exploring the Perthshire Artisans online platform is a great way to be inspired and source locally made, original and beautifully crafted homewares and gifts. If you’re a red squirrel supporter and taking part in the annual Great Scottish Squirrel Survey at the start of the month, have a peek at the lovely squirrel artwork from Artisans Lynsey Isles, Sabrin Miller and Olivia van Hooft-Young, all very different styles of work, all beautiful.

You may be ready to don some cosy knitwear in the evening or when out and about—Artisans Maria Theresa Moerman-Ib and Izzy Gretton and have some unique one-off designs to help with that. And whilst beautiful, naturally organic soy wax scented candles are welcome at any time, the flicker of a candle as the outside light fades is one of autumn’s joys. Perthshire Artisan Rachel Hendry’s candle collection offers several scents to choose from, and her first and most popular fragrance, Relax & Unwind is a deep, rich, slightly sweet and earthy scent, perfect for calm and relaxing evenings.

As well as all the Artisans lovely products and creations, the Perthshire Artisans website—www.perthshire-artisans.scot—also has news updates of where to meet the Artisans in person and individual profile pages if you’re keen to know more about how, why and what inspires the Artisans to create.
